Join Congregation Or HaTzafon for our annual Jews in Canoes adventure on the Chena River. We will put in at Graehl Park at 1:00 PM and enjoy a leisurely float downriver to Chena Wayside, just upstream of the University Avenue Bridge.

After arriving at Chena Wayside, we will gather for a picnic and enjoy the beauty of the Chena River State Recreation Area (3530 Geraghty Ave, Fairbanks, AK 99709). We anticipate arriving around 4:30 PM and will begin with a picnic.  Shabbat services will follow thereafter, probably around 5:30 PM.

Community members, visitors, and those curious to learn more are welcome to join us for this unique combination of outdoor recreation, Jewish community, and Shabbat celebration.

Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather, water, snacks, and picnic supplies. Additional details regarding canoes, transportation, and logistics will be provided closer to the event.
