Welcome to Or HaTzafon - “Light of the North”
Or Hatzafon is a small but mighty Jewish community located in Fairbanks, Alaska. More than 50 families worship from a synagogue that is a converted duplex in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Community members lead services from fall through spring, and in the summer months we serve as a training ground for exceptional rabbinical students. Our High Holiday services are similarly led by visiting clergy.
We offer a variety of adult classes throughout the year, a Sunday school and a week-long summer day camp for kids, community celebrations for major holidays, and special events such as the Farthest North Jewish Film Festival and our annual Miracle of Lights gala and fundraiser.
