Student Rabbi Scott Goldberg is a Jewish educator, multi-instrumentalist, classically-trained vocalist, outdoors enthusiast, and rabbinical student at the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, from where he also received a Certificate in Jewish Organizational Leadership from the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management. For the past two years, Scott served as student rabbi of Temple Or Hadash in Fort Collins, CO, focusing on building relationships by way of text study, music, and healing. Scott has enjoyed a wide variety of experiences throughout his time in rabbinical school including a congregational internship at Temple Israel in Omaha, NE, head songleader and 6th grade instructor at Temple Beth Hillel in Valley Village, CA, and Director of Outdoor Programs at URJ Camp Kalsman in Arlington, WA. A fifth-generation Nebraskan, Scott graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a BA in Economics and minors in Italian and Music, subsequently working in management consulting and Jewish day school education. In his spare time, you can find Scott organizing and participating in recreational team sports, community potlucks, and hootenannies.

Student Rabbi Scott continues to be  incredibly eager to join Congregation Or HaTzafon Scott will meet the community at the weekly "Schmoozing in the Evening" on Wednesday nights. At the schmooze, Scott looks forward to hearing from our Or HaTzafon family about the types of programs and classes we hope to attend.  Throughout the summer, Scott plans to engage with Or HaTzafon via weekly Kabbalat Shabbat services, adult education classes, and "Schmoozing in the Evening" programs in addition to various havdalah services, one-on-one meetings with congregants, and more.
